1. Introduction and Overview
Welcome to The Castledermot Network (“the Platform”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). The Platform operates as a local digital directory and community enterprise platform connecting residents, community organisations, and businesses across Castledermot and surrounding areas.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the access and use of the Platform by:
Public Visitors & Users: Individuals browsing the directory, submitting inquiries, or publishing reviews.
Community Members: Non-profit community clubs, voluntary groups, and local societies.
Commercial Members: Commercial businesses, sole traders, contractors, and professionals registered on the directory.
By using or registering an account on the Platform, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms.
2. Community & Club Alignment (Social Contribution)
The Castledermot Network is committed to community reinvestment.
A portion of all commercial directory listing fees directly supports local grassroots and essential emergency services, specifically Castledermot GAA and Castledermot First Responders.
By subscribing to a paid business listing, Commercial Members acknowledge and support this community partnership.
Commercial listing fees are commercial advertising and directory placement fees; they do not constitute charitable donations or tax-deductible gifts by the Member under the Taxes Consolidation Act.
3. Listing Categories and Pricing
3.1 Community & Non-Profit Listings
Complimentary Access: Directory listings are provided free of charge to bona fide local sports clubs, community associations, voluntary groups, registered charities, and not-for-profit initiatives serving the Castledermot community.
Eligibility: We reserve the right to verify community or voluntary status and retain sole discretion over whether an entity qualifies for free listing status. Free listings may not be used to advertise third-party commercial services.
3.2 Commercial Listings & Subscription Tiers
Commercial enterprises, tradespeople, contractors, and service providers may list their business on an annual basis via two payment structures:
Annual Listing (Paid Monthly): A 12-month commitment billed in twelve consecutive monthly instalments.
Annual Listing (Once-Off Payment): An upfront single payment securing listing placement for a full 12-month period.
No Setup Fees: There are no additional setup, onboarding, or activation fees.
All fees are quoted in Euro (€) and processed securely through our designated third-party payment gateway.
4. Billing, Cancellations, and Refunds
4.1 Cancellations
Commercial Members may cancel their subscription at any time by notifying our support team in writing at [email protected].
Upon receipt and confirmation of your cancellation request:
For Once-Off Annual Plans, your listing remains active until the end of the 12-month period and will not renew.
For Monthly-Billed Annual Plans, processing of cancellation will terminate future recurring billing cycles in accordance with your notification.
4.2 Refund Policy (24-Hour Grace Period)
24-Hour Window: If you change your mind, you may request a full refund within twenty-four (24) hours of your listing being published or renewed. Refund requests must be sent via email to [email protected] within this window.
No Refunds After 24 Hours: Once twenty-four (24) hours have elapsed following publication, all listing fees (both one-off annual payments and recurring monthly instalments) are strictly non-refundable. We do not offer prorated refunds, partial credits, or early termination refunds for active listings.
Editorial Rejection: If a listing application is rejected by platform administrators during onboarding for administrative reasons (unrelated to fraud, illegality, or malicious content), any initial payment collected will be refunded in full.
5. Interactive Features: Reviews and Direct Inquiries
5.1 Public Star Ratings & Reviews
The Platform permits registered or verified public users to publish star ratings and written reviews of Listed Businesses.
Genuine Customer Experience: Reviews must reflect an authentic, firsthand commercial or consumer engagement with the business.
Prohibited Review Conduct: You may not:
Submit false, misleading, defamatory, threatening, or retaliatory reviews;
Review your own business, an employer, or a direct commercial competitor;
Solicit or offer financial compensation, discounts, or incentives in exchange for ratings.
Right to Moderate: We do not arbitrate commercial disagreements. However, we reserve the right to investigate, hide, edit, or delete any review reported as abusive, unlawful, fraudulent, or in breach of these Terms.
5.2 Direct Listing Contact Forms & Inquiries
Customer Inquiries: The Platform provides contact forms on business profiles allowing visitors to send direct messages to Listed Businesses.
No Spam or Harassment: Contact forms are solely for legitimate inquiries, quotations, or customer service communications. Using contact forms for unsolicited mass marketing (spam), recruitment, phishing, or harassment is strictly prohibited.
Delivery Disclaimer: While we maintain standard web mail infrastructure, we do not guarantee the instantaneous or error-free delivery of inquiries sent through web forms, nor are we responsible for whether a Listed Business responds.
6. Accuracy and Directory Disclaimers
Directory Facilitator Only: The Castledermot Network acts solely as an informational directory and local marketing platform.
Independent Relationships: Any transaction, quote, contract, purchase, or service agreement entered into through the directory is exclusively between the customer and the Listed Business.
No Endorsement or Warranty: The presence of a business on the directory does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, or warranty of their qualifications, workmanship, prices, or regulatory compliance. Users are encouraged to conduct standard due diligence (e.g., verifying insurance and trade certificates).
7. Member Obligations and Content Rights
Accuracy: Listed Businesses warrant that all profile details, trading names, contact numbers, and trade accreditations are accurate and kept up to date.
Licence to Display: By uploading business logos, photography, promotional text, or marketing copy, you grant The Castledermot Network a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and feature that content on the website and associated social/community media channels.
Unlawful Content: We reserve the right to remove any profile that violates Irish advertising standards, infringes third-party intellectual property, or conducts unlawful business.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Irish and EU law:
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind.
The Castledermot Network, its operators, and its community partners (including Castledermot GAA and Castledermot First Responders) shall not be held liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential losses, lost profits, reputational damage, or trade disruptions arising out of directory downtime, user reviews, or engagements between directory users.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
All personal data collected via registration, listing forms, contact forms, or newsletter subscriptions is handled in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018. 10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by, and interpreted in accordance with, the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
